Aha…Ryota has a delinquent daughter? I don’t see that coming at all lol…Well it does suit him, father and daughter, both very stubborn.

I guess the failed murder attempt to keep Kuraki silent by the Athena villains kind of backfired? Not only does he slow down, even when confined in hospital, he seeks help from Ryota to investigate Miki’s boss, Shunsuke. Ryota being a tsundere declines to help him. However, the case piques his interest and so he pursues in his own way.

That includes following Miki to a female toilet. I love Ryota! I’m happy he gets more screentime, he deserves even more actually. I’m a bit tired of only watching expressionless Kuraki.

OMG Ryota’s family only communicates by shouting with each other. Just by having a look into his family interaction and problematic daughter brings something fresh onto the table. I love this episode already from the moment they showed the family.

While Ryota gets threatened by a local reporter about his daughter, Kuraki gets a night visit from the guy who tries to shut him up.

Ryota has no choice but to get audio recording from Kuraki about him pursuing the bombing case. This time, Ryota opens up to Kuraki about the reason of his deep hatred against Public Security. Apparently, there was a case involving his daughter’s best friend’s mother. Ryota interrogated her and from the info from Public Security, that somehow pushed the mother to commit suicide. That was when Ryota’s daughter, Megumi changed.

Ryota decides not to get the recording and lies that he has forgotten the motive of him approaching Kuraki. Can you actually break a recorder into half like that?!

Megumi approaches Miki and explains that she was framed for theft previously. Miki is obviously not interested but having been a daughter to a father who was a police officer, she feels somehow similar to Megumi. Megumi asks her to tell this to her father.

Miki finally confesses to both Ryota and Kuraki that she lied about something major. Apparently, Shingai was not the killer of the previous murders, but it was actually Hiromi, his little sister. So this proves that Hiromi actually exists. But her absence is a huge mystery.

Miki was following Hiromi on the day the bombing happened. So that mysterious woman was Hiromi? Shunsuke appears and wants to work together with them. He also reveals that people backing the villain is Public Security. So their enemy is actually Public Security itself. That explains why Miki works like a spy and doesn’t reveal anything much other than Shunsuke.

After 3 episodes, Athena finally caught Shingai.

Things are getting more complicated and interesting. Most of all, this is my favorite episode because Ryota gets the screen time he deserves and to see his family, the strained relationship with his daughter is a nice change of pace. What’s more important is we get more revelation on Shingai’s little sister but we still don’t know who she is and where. We’ll get some action in the next episode.
