There’s still so much we don’t know about the murder case. Even though they gave us more new flashback scenes, I will not put my money on it. Truth is, I don’t even know whether what they were feeding us were indeed true memory or not. For example, we saw Masato holding the candle holder thingy which was used to hit Noguchi and Nozomi rushed out of the room to find him there. Then Naruse appeared because he was working part-time at a restaurant and was there coincidently to send food.
That’s something really hard to swallow. I’m pretty sure something was actually planned and things went bad or not the way they had wanted to.
But I’m glad they’ve started to move on to the present time. Though, I actually do miss watching Naruse and Nozomi together. Now it’s more of Nozomi and the other two guys. Ando is really cute though. Based on what we saw, Masato had a troubled childhood most possibly with an abusive mother. That explained why he was hiding his arm from being seen by Nozomi (during the flood scene in ep3). I think those were cigarette burn scars. He had fear towards fire as well.
There was something that intrigued me about the conversation between Masato and Nozomi regarding what they think of love. Nozomi was speaking in the lines of ‘sharing the sins of her loved one’. It’s not about how you’re an accomplice but even if you didn’t do it, you share half of the sins of the other person. This pretty much confirms her feelings for Naruse. *Yes, I’m rooting for this pair though they might end tragically.
Why does every episode make wanna tear up seriously?
Nozomi received a letter for a reunion gathering back at the island so she went back happily thinking she might meet Naruse again. Her mother was also working earnestly and earning her own money. So everything was fine and looking bright when Nozomi got a call from her friend that Naruse’s father passed away.
To think Nozomi and Naruse met at his father’s funeral after all the years. Well, I started tearing up already when Naruse was at home looking at his motionless father. It was sad he couldn’t meet him before he passed.
So everything is connected. The N operation to save Nobara Apartment from being sold off to development, had opened up the opportunity for the three of them – Nozomi, Ando and Masato to meet Noguchi and his wife. Noguchi’s father who owned the luxurious apartment was also included in the construction plan. He was against it so Masato thought of getting close to his eldest son to gain more support in the N operation.
So he asked Nozomi and the reluctant Ando to join the volunteer activities Noguchi was sponsoring.
So how will this unfold? Now we know they met the pair of husband and wife because they wanted to save Nobara apartment. At least, Nozomi and Ando were doing it purely for that reason, at first. I’m still a bit suspicious of Masato’s real intention. He seemed too well informed about everything, including Noguchi’s background and such. Who knows, he probably dragged both Nozomi and Ando into his own plan, without them knowing.
One night, Nozomi caught a glimpse of Naruse in the city but couldn’t catch up with him. Apparently, Naruse wasn’t having such a great life either, even though he was being supported by scholarship. A friend then introduced him to a part-time job that pays well.
Any part-time job that pays too well to be true is sure to be something not good. I think Naruse got himself tangled with dirty jobs like conning money off parents. You know the ‘ore-ore’ scam where you call somebody and said you’re his/her son/daughter, and asks for money?
