TBS is making another children related drama. Last season, we saw the wonderful lighthearted Mother Game. This time, they’re back with 37.5°C no Namida with actress, Misako Renbutsu alongside other cast such as Hiroki Narimiya, Naohito Fujiki, Miki Mizuno and Mokomichi Hayami.
Momoko (Renbutsu) is a newbie at a company that specializes in offering babysitter services especially for sick kids, often when their working parents need to work and they need someone to care for their sick child at home. Momoko used to be a teacher at nursery school, in fact, that was initially her dream but it didn’t work out. Apparently, the parents seemed to have some trouble getting along with her and her infamous awkward smiles might have scared off their kids.
No, seriously, the smiles are really weird xD
One day after she screwed up at one of the company’s events, she was assigned to her first care. Although one of the bosses, Chikara Yanagi, acted by Fujiki Naohito, wasn’t happy with the decision, another boss, Asahina, acted by Hiroki Narimiya was convinced that she could somehow handle it and thought it’d be interesting.
Of course, it didn’t really work out fine. She was chasing the kid more than having him under control and even when he was supposed to have afternoon nap, he wanted to touch boobs.
Which of course surprised Momoko that she phoned Asahina for advice. In the end, she offered her upper arm and claimed she heard someone said before that it has the same softness as boobs xDD
What the hell lol
Later that night, while the colleagues celebrated her first assignment, Yanagi stormed into the diner and scolded her. The mother of the kid complained that Momoko had done unnecessary thing such as cleaning up her house. So yeah, even when she helped to tidy up the house, the mother wasn’t happy.
It’s been quite a while since the last time I saw Hiroki Harimiya. I can’t even remember the last drama I saw him in. I always felt my eyes are hooked to how uniquely shaped his mouth is, especially when he smiles.
There were flashbacks to Momoko’s childhood. Her mother seemed to have something against her. She loved her other siblings but showed coldness towards her alone.
Also, take note this kid, who acted as Momoko’s older brother was in Ouroboros as young Danno xD
Mokomichi Hayami is a father whose wife left the house.
For those who don’t know, this kid was in Mother Game XD
He is Kenta now in this show but he’ll still be Haruto in my heart.
More weird smiles
No wonder kids are scared of her lol
She was called to care for the first kid whose mother had once complained about her cleaning her house. Well, can you just look at the house? It’s so messy! She should be happy that someone is kind enough to help clean it for free!
Anyways, the kid suddenly had seizure from the fever and she panicked. After Asahina told her to calm down and recall what she should do at times like these, she got a grip of herself. Managed to save the kid and let the pros take over.
Guess she was pretty shocked since it was her first case.
At the hospital, the mother rushed over only to complain that her kid looked fine and wondered why they even bothered to call her to come.
What kind of mother is this?
A child was brought to the hospital and all she could do was complain? Oh so she’ll only be satisfied when the child ends up in the morgue?!
Momoko put some sense into the mother’s at the hospital before she left.
I see a similar pattern of this show with Mother Game. The theme is different but the premise is based on similar formula. But character-wise, Momoko is someone who lack of courage unless being pushed (in this case Asahina) while Kiko Kamahara is more confident and straightforward.
So basically this will be a case per episode.
Looks like Momoko’s mum and brother is still around. They’re planning to contact her to care for their sick father. We’ll see how that goes in the next episode.
Overall this is an okay episode. It’s what I expected. I wish they used the same effects as Mother Game though, more vibrant colours etc because some scenes like the office ones are dark and just bit dull.
I’m placing my bet this is Asahina’s kid XD
That’s Adachi Yumi who was in Mother Game, looks like TBS is re-using quite a few of their cast.
**Correction – I thought this is Renbutsu’s first leading role, thanks to reminders from readers, it’s not her first. This drama is just her first on a private TV network and she’s been a lead back in 2008…wow.
