Made me wept like a baby.
Oguri Shun’s character has a wife who is involved in an accident and has high possibility of being in a vegetable state. As such, Konotori asks him to make a difficult choice because if things get worse that might threaten his wife’s life, he has to tell them whether to save his wife or child’s life. He can’t make the decision yet.
Basically the entire episode focuses a lot on his case, with short glimpses of two other mothers. One who is having difficulties quitting smoking that makes Shinomiya who’s in charge of her to utter this to her. As harsh as it sounds, I agree 100% with him. A mother should think beyond her own if she’s carrying another life in her. The same goes to fathers who smoke as well, in my honest opinion. I’ve had friends whose fathers quit smoking once they built a family. I know it takes a lot of effort but I guess, if you really think of your own family’s well being in the long run, it’s the best choice.
His wife’s condition gets worse and finally after watching some old footage he took with his wife, he realizes what he must do. His wife mentioned in the video that she understood now that there is something more precious than her own life.
So he asks Konotori to save his child. The entire scene is heart breaking…my tears flowed.
Or maybe there’s some kind of contract between them and their agency, who knows?
This show continues to tug at my heartstrings so much. I was expecting some comedy like the ones shown in episode 1 but since they’re dealing with such a pivotal case, they need to focus on that first. But we get some light scenes at the end and this post will not be complete without more Mayu Matsuoka. With spectacles too 😄
This drama has not yet been picked up for subbing. Pity. It’s a nice show. Actually if Siren isn’t released this season, I would’ve taken this up. But Matsuzaka Tori and Kimura Fumino’s combination is slightly stronger plus I’ve read that manga and loved it so I went for that instead.
Hopefully someone kind will sub this~
