Looking for a comedy this season?
This may just be the one!
To be honest, I had no idea Ie Uru Onna is going to be a comedy. Judging from the synopsis alone (I didn’t watch the trailer), I thought Kitagawa Keiko is a professional and elegant real estate agent with tricks up her sleeves to get her clients to buy houses.
What I didn’t expect is an unforgiving and brutal Kitagawa Keiko who orders her colleagues around like minions. Put her in a military uniform and she’ll come off as a soldier. No, seriously, try and imagine that.
I literally had tears from bursting into laughter watching this. Initially, I thought that first scene when she arrives at her new company, with that bright sunlight behind her, like she’s some angel, is really cheesy.
Then when she opens her mouth to speak, she sounds stiff and I’m already thinking, “Hm…this is weird. Why is she speaking like a robot/soldier??” Then when she starts turning her poor colleague into a walking signboard, that’s when I think, “Okay, this could actually be fun!”
And it doesn’t end there. For some reason, she likes using the tape to execute power hara to this colleague. Well, that lazy colleague has it coming for her. She’s targeted because she never sold a single house ever since she worked in the company so Keiko’s forcing her to contribute. Not sure if taping her to the chair (in the second round) can really help though lol
Can I take a moment just to point out that bar has a really funny and cute name?
Chichin Pui Pui. Try saying that 3 times. Just do it. See? It’s cute!
(They played a chichin pui pui song in the bar too)
Sangenya Machi or Sanchi, the nickname her colleagues give her because it’s too long (I agree!), is a diligent, no-nonsense fierce woman. She’s straight to the point and doesn’t care if her choice of words are hurtful. She’s unyielding and when she marks her prey, she’s gonna do anything to get it. She’s also stubborn and doesn’t take any advice or orders, not even from her boss. In fact, she’s already acting like a boss especially towards that poor colleague.
Transforming her colleague into a walking signboard (might as well be the pinnacle of this episode)
The GO! special effect (anime-ish wind blowing on her face xD)
Forcing the kouhai to drive through narrow back streets (careful not to scratch the car!)
-I like how she just shoves it down to the kid that humans are all gonna die one day and it’s not the time to act like a spoiled brat.
The tree climbing scene may be taking it a little too far. That’s a bit too unrealistic but still quite funny.
Looks like it’s going to adopt the episodic formula of different clients/cases and she solves their problem. Let’s hope they keep the comedy fresh and entertaining because that’s really one of the best parts of this drama. It’s really hilarious.
So if you’re wondering what kind of house does she live in…guess what, she stays in a mansion where a family of 8 were murdered. I bet the price fell like crazy when things like that occur so I suppose she seizes the opportunity to buy it? A woman like her can’t be scared of ghosts 😄
I really wanna see the making of this show to be honest. I bet she can’t hold her laughter and keep that straight-face all the way.
Continue because you got my attention!
